Develop a new brand targeting young people aged 13-16, inclusive of all diverse backgrounds. The brand should motivate them to engage with real-world issues on regional, national, and global scales, inspiring them to make a difference.

Navigating Relationships

During the pivotal ages of 13-16, teens undergo significant social development, navigating friendships, family ties, and budding romantic interests. Offering tools like a fun card game can aid in fostering crucial communication skills, emotional intelligence, and healthy relationship habits

We conducted surveys for more insights and found for kids aged 13-16, prioritising friendships and self-discovery is key, alongside considering future careers. For adults, ensuring educational value in a card game for their children is essential, with 100% indicating interest in educational aspects

When researching competitors we found they focus solely on fun, we want to empower players to connect with values and concerns through our product, fostering a sense of community. This unique approach ensures that players not only enjoy the product but also take purposeful actions aligned with their principles

Designing the Solution

The product Ideation

Mind Matterz revolutionizes teen empowerment with an engaging blend of interactive card gameplay and app integration. Through real-life scenarios and QR code access, players aged 13-16 tackle critical thinking challenges while learning relationship navigation skills

  • After experimenting with various scenario card designs, including AI-generated options, we found that users preferred a clean, white background with clear text. A/B testing confirmed this design choice, as it was deemed clearer and more accessible to all users.

When looking for UI inspiration we were drawn to Vibrant colours which catch teens' attention. Bold contrasts add visual interest and keep the design engaging. This dynamic combination resonates with teens' preferences, making the experience memorable


Mind Matterz is a unique platform that empowers teens aged 13-16 through an engaging blend of interactive card gameplay and app integration, fostering critical thinking and relationship navigation skills. There is 3 categories within the deck for an inclusive accessible play with anyone

Final Product


How to Play

  • Select a scenario card from the deck

  • Discuss/think with players/individually how you would react to the scenario

  • Upload this card into the app by scanning the qr code

  • Multiple choice question on what individual user would do with a time limit

  • When results are in players can see each others answers and sinus further adding the card to their collection

  • Players need to trade and find pairs of cards to add to their bank collection

The Cards

Just like Pokémon, Mind Matterz offers three packs of cards tackling various life problems, inviting users to scan QR codes and download the app for solutions, fostering discussion and problem-solving.

We wanted the tone of voice to be a vibrant, energetic, and contemporary style of communication tailored to resonate with a youthful audience, with a carefully curated colour palette chosen to captivate teenagers and make the product stand out

The App

The app offers a curated collection of daily articles, a Phygital Card game, and a card bank for trading, enhancing engagement and learning.

By adopting an omnichannel approach, our brand maximizes its social media presence on platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok, connecting with our target audience through tailored content and strategic engagement, fostering increased visibility, engagement, and organic recommendations.
